The Significance of Teamwork

1 Corinthians 12

We were made for significance

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

We are God’s primary accomplishment
We are created for a purpose
We are part of the plan

Teamwork is inclusive

But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it. How strange a body would be if it had only one part! Yes, there are many parts, but only one body. The eye can never say to the hand, “I don’t need you.” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you.”

1 Corinthians 12:18-21

Teamwork is intended

The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it…The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”

Genesis 2:15,18

Teamwork is a part of discipleship

There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.

1 Corinthians 12:4-7

Teamwork is an expression of love

Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn’t do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another.
