God has called and equipped His people to reflect His holy character, His truth, and His love. We are called not merely to belief, but to faithfully living lives that please God and that shine His light into the world around us.
The New Year offers a great opportunity to assess where we are and how we can grow. As Christians, we are in constant pursuit of growth in our relationship with Jesus and in how we faithfully live out and reflect his truth, holiness, and love.
God calls Jonah to the mission field, to reach the wicked city of Nineveh. Jonah runs away from God and from his call. This sharply contrasts or expectations of a prophet of God, and it also sharply contrasts the pagan sailors who run to God as Jonah runs away.
The holy person is not one who cannot sin. The holy person is one who will not sin.
